What's happening at Community Services this month? There's always a lot going on with over 30+ programs that serve the community!

Early Childhood Explorations

Connect with your child and with other families as our facilitators guide you through a welcoming and creative program facilitated by program staff and ECPN pedagogist Janet Lacroix, who will work on a drawing project with the group. You will experience - Open and creative art opportunities - Play-based activities - Outdoor play - Circle time with songs and story telling - A nutritious snack

 Ukulele Group

Want to learn to play ukulele while your children play? This FREE 4-week class is designed for the parents and caregivers of young children. It is a beginner's class - no music experience or knowledge is needed. You will learn simple ukulele chords and songs. Your kids can play while you develop a new skill or practice one you love! BYO or borrow one of our ukuleles.

Child Care Resource and Referral

Stop by our child friendly office — there is a play area for the children — and find out how the Child Care Resource and Referral Program can support you. Infant Development Program

The Infant Development Program (IDP) provides support for families of children aged birth to three who have a developmental delay, are at risk for a developmental delay, or have been diagnosed with a disability. 

Fall Playgroup

Playgroup is a place where you and your child can play and socialize in an informal, small group setting. Playgroup provides an opportunity to engage in developmental activities and play, meet other families, and talk to your IDP consultant. To register or for more information, contact:

Sunshine Coast Food Bank & Food Security Programs

Arrowhead Clubhouse

Arrowhead Clubhouse is a place where people living with mental illness can come to learn skills, get support and build relationships in a safe, stigma-free environment.

Art and Bake Sale!

Save the date for the 2022 Arrowhead Clubhouse Art & Bake sale! Browse and purchase Christmas decorations, artwork, calendars, cookbooks and of course Christmas cookies created by Arrowhead Clubhouse members. Proceeds from each sale go directly to the artist and towards funding future art projects at the Clubhouse. Hope to see you there!

Community Services Thrift Store

At the Community Services Thrift Store, you can find all sorts of gems! We are a social enterprise and not-for-profit and operate with the dedication of volunteers. Every dollar at our Thrift store goes directly toward supporting SCCSS programs and participants.

WHEN: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Closed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and holidays

Youth Outreach

The Youth Otreach program works to increase youth safety by connection and referring youth to local resources, focusing on risk reduction and providing the community with a broader understanding of youth issues.

Gender Diverse Network

The Gender Diverse Network (GDN) is a monthly therapeutic drop-in for those who identify or question whether they fall within the gender diverse spectrum (transgender, nonbinary, genderfluid, etc.). The GDN is a multi-generational group open to people aged 16+ to connect with others, give and share information, and seek support. If you’re under 16 and seeking resources, please feel free to contact Shayne (see below). The drop-in is on the second Thursday of every month.

WHEN:  Next drop-in is Thursday, December 8th, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Queer Youth Drop-In

A chance to hang out, have fun and get to know your community! This event is held on the fourth Thursday of every month at Sechelt Youth Centre and food is always provided. For more information, contact the Youth Outreach team on Instagram @SCyouthoutreach or call/text 604-865-0178.
