Supported Services to Children

This program provides support to children and youth with developmental and physical challenges to optimize their potential and quality of life.

The Supported Services to Children program provides support to children and youth with developmental and physical challenges to optimize their potential and quality of life. Youth develop social and recreational skills by experiencing a variety of activities and settings.

Life skill groups provide education about becoming independent. Clients are given opportunities to access their community, develop relationships and grow as individuals.

What you can expect from the program

The program focus is goal-oriented, and the objective is to support children and youth to work towards individual and collective goals.

We provide programming that allows the child full access to community resources available to their age group. Goals are mutually agreed upon and are attainable yet challenging. We support the family and community to understand the child or youth’s abilities and advocate for any changes that are external barriers to the child or youth’s achievements.

The program is committed to a family-centred approach and encourages family involvement in all planning and decision making with those involved in their child or youth’s care.

How you can take part

Supported Services to Children referrals and contracts are initiated through the MCFD / CYSN social worker. The social worker determines eligibility for the service.

This decision is made before a referral to the program.

Please reach out if you have any questions!

This program is funded by BC MCFD.
