Women's housing project announced for Sechelt
As part of today's BC Government announcements for International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we are excited to share the news that we are working together with BC Housing to provide 30-35 units of long-term housing for women and children leaving violence.
The project will be located on the current site at 5638 Inlet Ave. in Sechelt. In addition to residential units, the proposed six-storey mixed-use development will house the majority of SCCSS programs on the first two floors.
The BC government made the announcement earlier today to kick off the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The project is part of a wider investment in BC of $734 million over 10 years to build 1,500 homes with supports for women and children leaving violence.
