The Family Resource Worker works within the Bellies and Babies and Parent-Tot programs supporting parents and caregivers with children from birth to six years old.  The Family Resource Worker is part of a team who provide a safe and welcoming environment for families and promotes healthy pregnancies to improve maternal outcomes. The Family Resource Worker creates a safe and stimulating play and learning environment suitable for the diverse developmental needs of children ages birth to six and provides hands-on support and information that will assist parents and caregivers to enhance their parenting skills and nurture their relationship with their child/children. The Family Resource Worker reports to the Program Lead.

What does it take to be a Family Resource Worker? You are interested in working with families to support them to reach their full capacity.  You understand the need for community and connection for parents and the everyday challenges families experience. It is important to you to be part of a team working to provide space for support that enhances parent and child connections, and you like to have fun while providing opportunities for children to get lost in play. You have Early Childhood Education training or experience, and a demonstrated ability to communicate with participants in a non-judgemental and empathetic manner.
