Child and Youth Support Worker

Regular Part-Time

The Child and Youth Support Worker (C&YSW) creates a welcoming and safe environment for the residents of Yew Transition House (YTH). The C&YSW’s priority is to provide emotional support, advocacy, child care, and supervised activities for children and youth and works in collaboration with other YTH staff to support guardians and residents. When children and youth are not present in the house, the C&YSW is also responsible for Women’s Support Worker duties within scheduled hours. This is a BCGEU position that reports to the Yew Transition House Lead.

What Does It Take to be the Child and Youth Support Worker? You understand the systemic issues that need to be addressed in order to decrease violence against women and children. You have three years of experience working with children and at least one year of experience working in a transition house.
