This #GivingTuesday, make a positive impact and help Sunshine Coast Community Services build an engaged, healthy and thriving Coast!
You can help us make a difference!
Every year, on Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday), millions of people across the globe show up, give back, and change their communities. The goal is to create a massive wave of generosity that lasts well beyond that day and touches every person in a meaningful way.
Our programs are all about helping people, nurturing connections, linking to resources and building the support that enables our community to thrive. We support 1 in 5 people on the Coast, and your donations help us have a real impact. In 2021, we supported our community through 30+ programs and services in the following areas:
- Community Action & Engagement Programs
- Together Against Violence
- Family, Youth & Children's Services
- Child & Family Counselling Programs
This year, we also launched our Capital Campaign for Building Together. This milestone community project will help address affordable housing issues on the Coast by providing 34 affordable housing units for women and children and a new hub for programs and services the whole community can access.

Here’s just a fraction of how donations helped us to deliver services in 2021:

235 Arrowhead Clubhouse members living with mental illness supported in a safe, stigma-free environment

More than 16,500 visits (including 579 times by children) to the Food Bank for essential food and supplies

1,200 calls to our 24/7 Access Line received from women seeking resources and support

1,318 check-ins to connect with and ensure the wellbeing of Better At Home seniors
-
395 victims of crime and other traumas received support and resources through Police Based Victims Services

5,241 unique visits to Parent-Tot Drop-In. 99% found the place warm and welcoming and would return

3,905 times Childcare Resource and Referral services accessed

275 women attended Bellies and Babies sessions and provided with support, education and connection
-
2,883 times Youth Services accessed, connecting youth to resources, support and opportunities to create positive peer connections
-
100% of children demonstrated improved feelings of wellbeing after receiving Children’s Counselling Services

21 children with experiences of violence supported and empowered through the PEACE program.
