Join the SCCSS Board of Directors!

Sunshine Coast Community Services Society (SCCSS) is seeking volunteers to join our governance Board of Directors. If you are a team player looking to make a difference in your community, SCCSS wants to hear from you!

Sunshine Coast Community Services Society Board of DirectorsSunshine Coast Community Services Society, the largest non-profit on the Sunshine Coast, has been making our community stronger, safer and more resilient since 1974.  We support over 5000 community members through 35 programs that foster community connections, support new mothers, encourage youth, nurture children, strengthen families, empower women and assist seniors.

And we are looking for volunteers to join our governance Board of Directors.

The Board’s role is to establish policy and procedures that direct operational process, ensure financial sustainability, engage in the development and approval of strategic plans, and monitor and mitigate risks to the organization.

Benefits of serving on the SCCSS Board include:
• Strengthening your governance and leadership skills;
• Expanding your network;
• Learning from your peers and sharing your expertise;
• Contributing towards a shared vision of an engaged, healthy and thriving Coast

 “Volunteering for SCCSS as a board member has been a rich and rewarding experience. Its multiple programs and complexity reflect the very real needs on the Sunshine Coast, not already covered by government or other programs,” SCCSS President Sue Anne Linde shared. “People in distress, people who feel isolated, or who need access to resources find assistance and support at Community Services. I am proud to serve them, and in return, to learn so much about how positive action and supportive encouragement can change people’s lives for the better.”

If you are a team player whose skills include strategic thinking, effective communication, problem solving, networking and leadership consider joining our Board. Our goal is to ensure the SCCSS Board of Directors is a true reflection of our community.

One of our current Board Members would be happy to speak with you about this volunteer opportunity. For more information on becoming a board member, contact Sue Lowell at or 604-885-5881.
