Women's Counselling

Free, confidential counselling for women who have been subjected to abuse.

Since 1993 the Women’s Counselling Program has been providing counselling free of charge to women (aged 19 and over) who have felt the impact of abuse.

Whatever happened, or is happening, you can heal and you don’t have to face it alone.  The Women’s Counselling Program offers counselling to help you find safe ways to overcome the impact abuse has had or is having on your life.

No referral is required. The program is free and confidential. Most of the counselling is provided individually on a short or long term basis, depending on the needs of the woman seeking service.

Counselling is offered in two locations – Gibsons and Sechelt.  To set up an appointment, just call or text our confidential line at 604-865-0105.

What To Expect

This program seeks to help women and trans folks regardless of age, race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation or ability recover from the harm they have experienced and reclaim healthy satisfying lives by:

  • Understanding how abuse works
  • Exploring the impact it has had
  • Identifying and using existing strengths and skills
  • Building supportive relationships and communities
  • Learning new skills and resources

You Are Not Alone

Abuse is a social problem that affects us all.  It can happen to any woman regardless of age, ethnicity, class, race, sexual orientation or ability. It happens with alarming frequency, but it is not acceptable and it is never your fault.
