Settlement and Outreach Worker, Welcoming Communities

25 Hours per Week; Temporary, Part-Time; 1-year term

The Welcoming Communities Program at Community Services supports new immigrants to build skills and knowledge for success in Canada through a range of services, programs, and workshops. Welcoming Communities assists, informs and connects newcomers on the Sunshine Coast.

What does it take to be a Settlement and Outreach Worker? You must have a belief in and a positive attitude towards change, a strong understanding of the barriers, challenges, and issues affecting newcomers to Canada and experience working with clients from different cultural and racial backgrounds and with special needs.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with new immigrants and some basic knowledge of resources available in our community. If you are an enthusiastic, dedicated, passionate, energetic and empathetic individual with post-secondary education plus 2 years of related experience, we would like to hear from you.
